"We had the opportunity to hear Casandra Austin speak to a group of approximately 75 members of Illinois Women in Leadership in Springfield, Illinois in January, 2018. Casandra spoke with the eloquence of an author who has lived their story, along with the enthusiasm of someone who is not done transforming themselves. She spoke of an abusive childhood and how living through that allowed her to become the strong, confident woman that stood before and challenged us. Casandra is well spoken and touches her audience on a personal level, allowing them to apply lessons learned and inspiring them to reach beyond and become the best version of themselves."

“I had the privilege of attending a Women’s Conference in 2017, where Casandra was the featured speaker. I wasn’t “supposed” to be there but my previous plans had fallen thru. I arrived feeling defeated, alone and as if I had run out of time to achieve what I was put on this earth to achieve.
I wondered where God was in all of the mess!
As I listened to her speak so candidly I knew I was right where I belonged! I was indeed “supposed” to be at that conference, on that day, listening to this young lady speak.
I purchased her book Unclothed and asked her to sign it for me. I explained that I was actually supposed to be somewhere else but somehow landed there and that I did not believe much in coincidence… that I, an artist, felt like I was off track to my purpose, until I heard her speak. She simply asked how I would like my book signed and I told her however she felt moved to sign it was fine.
She wrote: ”…trust God always, He will always be there. It’s never too late to become who you are meant to be”
My heart leaped and I hold that conversation and book dear! That was three years ago and today I have a design that graces the front of a Ralph Lauren polo. I cannot say I wouldn’t have attained this had I not been at the conference but I DO Know Casandra’s motivation and inspiration gave me the strength to push thru that day, still trusting God believing AND knowing I’m exactly where I’m “supposed” to be.”

“After attending the Illinois Association of Community Agencies “The Power of Action Agents of Change” conference to hear my dear friend speak, my perspective shifted. She started off her message with how we dread Monday’s. I had become one of those who no longer looked forward to Monday’s due to the toxicity within the walls of the agency I work for. I am in social services and it is already a job that can sap you of your energy if you aren’t careful. The environment has become so draining that I have started working from home more often just so I would not be subjected to the heaviness within the walls. I found myself becoming tired and restless. Sleep was something I dreamt about because work had taken over, even when I was asleep. After listening to Casandra and thinking about my why, I began to remember WHY I chose this field. I remembered who I am. I reflected on the things I used to do that kept me going every morning and I vowed to go back to the basics with setting intentions every day, getting my exercise in daily and speaking my truth…When I remain true to myself, which includes getting back to the basics, I feel better about myself. When I feel good, I am able to pour into others, which is why I chose to be in the field of human services. I have the ability to be the change I want to see but, I cannot allow outside forces to change ME. Hearing Casandra speak on remembering my why forced me to take a good, hard look at my present circumstances. I started to become jaded due to the toxicity around me. Her message really resonated with me. The day after the conference, I went back to the basics and it’s already looking better.
Thanks for having me Casandra!!”

“It's almost a year later, and I'm still thankful that I attended the Revive event. It was sort of on a whim. I had seen the event and passed it over a few times. Personal development wasn't really my 'thing'. But a few weeks before the event, I realized that I felt adrift. No more wind in my sails to keep pushing towards my dream...and my boat seemed to have even lost its rudder. So I made a decision to invest in myself. I was intrigued by my friend Casandra. I wanted to get to know her better. I figured if she was playing a roll in this event, then it be worth my time. What I didn't prepare myself for was how incredibly life changing this day was going to turn out to be. Not only did my boat no longer seem adrift, but I realized that I could truly steer it anywhere my dreams desired it to go. I realized that I am stronger and more worthy than I ever dreamed AND that all of this power and worth was already in me. I just needed someone to show me how to find it. I truly can't recommend this event strongly enough. Take a chance on believing in yourself. You are worth it and worthy of it.”

“The program was a great way to start off the New Year. Casandra brought not only insightful information, but gave you ways to obtain what she was talking about. The exercise of asking who you are, without using the labels that you generally associate yourself with, was one of my favorite things." ~Attendee
“Casandra’s presentation was excellent and I’m so glad that I went. It seems people are so busy these days (by choice) that they don’t slow down enough to make friendships, form bonds, be real, or share experiences. Hearing what she has gone through and how she has worked through all that happened to her by asking three main questions gives me much to reflect on. Learning how she has come so very far to find out who she really is (not just who she thinks she should be or who others expect her to be) while still sharing her setbacks makes us all realize we never really “arrive” and that when we stumble or lose our way we must brush off our “why.” Thank you, Casandra, for being so real and for heeding the call to share your experiences and life’s journey in order to help others. Your transformation from the inside out is truly inspirational.” ~Attendee
“I found it thought provoking, and she reminded me why even as a “senior,” I still attend meetings like AWC - because I can learn something new, about the world or about myself.” ~Attendee
